HPV vaccine
  • We offer HPV vaccines for females and males from 9 years old and above.
  • HPV vaccines help to prevent and protect cancers caused by the virus, which include:
    • Mouth and throat cancers
    • Cancers of the anal and genital areas
    • Cervical cancer
  • The vaccine also helps to prevent and protect from warts and genital warts.
  • As with other vaccines the number of doses depends on the age of the person, this case also applies to the HPV vaccine meaning that different ages require different number of doses.
  • The first dose of the vaccine is offered to people between the ages of 12-13 in school during year 8. The second dose is then offered at least 6 months after the first dose.
  • Anyone who is 15 years or older will be offered the vaccines three times.
    • The second dose is offered at least two months after the first vaccine.
    • The third dose is then offered at least 3-4 months after the second dose.
